Who We Are at Dog Tag Jeepers
Founded by a group of U.S. military veterans who drive Jeeps, Dog Tag Jeepers, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation, is committed to serving homeless veterans and veterans in need community for decades to come. Helping homeless veterans is a cause close to Dog Tag Jeepers' hearts. We have sacrificed so much in service to our country. When we return home, some of us face challenges that lead to homelessness, difficulty accessing healthcare, mental health support, or stable employment. Our effort to help homeless veterans and veterans in need requires the passion and commitment of friends, supporters, and like-minded organizations that enable us to fulfill our mission.

OUR MISSION
At Dog Tag Jeepers, our mission is to provide compassionate support and resources to homeless veterans and veterans in need all over Georgia, empowering them to regain stability and dignity. Through dedicated volunteer efforts, we aim to ensure that every veteran receives the care, respect, and opportunity they deserve, helping them rebuild their lives with hope and respect.
WHAT WE DO
- Provide Basic Needs: Provide food, clothing, and hygiene products to ensure that homeless veterans have immediate access to essential resources for their well-being.
- Mental Health and Counseling Services: We connect veterans with professional counselors and mental health resources to address trauma, PTSD, and other challenges they may be facing.
- Connect Veterans with Healthcare Services: We help veterans access healthcare, including physical health checkups, and substance abuse recovery programs.
- Foster Community and Peer Support: We create a welcoming environment where veterans can build supportive relationships with others who understand their unique experiences, helping them rebuild a sense of belonging.
- Support Housing Stability: We supply veterans with resources for them to secure permanent housing solutions, offering resources and financial assistance programs to make long-term housing attainable.
HOW WE DO IT
- Collaboration with Local Shelters and Services: We partner with local shelters, food banks, and community organizations to provide immediate relief, ensuring that veterans have access to safe shelters, nutritious meals, and personal care items.
- Volunteer Network: Our dedicated team of volunteers, who are veterans themselves or family of veterans passionate about supporting them, provides hands-on assistance, from meal distribution to companionship and guidance. Volunteers also play a crucial role in outreach programs to connect veterans with available services.
- Fundraising and Donations: We organize fundraising events, drive donation campaigns, and seek grants to support our initiatives. Donations from the community, both in-kind and monetary, help fund essential programs such as housing assistance, mental health care, and employment resources.
- Partnerships with Healthcare Providers: We work with local healthcare providers, including mental health professionals, addiction counselors, and medical clinics, to offer veterans the care they need.
- Mentorship and Peer Support Programs: Through peer support groups and mentorship, veterans can connect with others who understand their struggles. These programs offer a sense of camaraderie and help veterans rebuild a sense of purpose.
- Long-term Housing Solutions: We work with local housing authorities, landlords, and housing programs to help veterans secure permanent, affordable housing. This may include rental assistance, support with securing leases, and connections to government programs that provide housing stability.
- Awareness and Advocacy: Through public awareness campaigns, we aim to educate the community about the challenges homeless veterans face and inspire others to join our cause, whether through volunteerism, donations, or policy advocacy.

NO VETERAN SHOULD EVER BE HOMELESS
Veterans can face unique physical, emotional, and financial challenges related to
their service, and some of these challenges can lead to difficulty finding or keeping a home. Having a safe, stable place to call home can give veterans a foundation to get back on their feet. If you or someone you served with is homeless or at imminent risk of becoming homeless, or is in crisis, the VA is there to help. Trained, supportive professionals are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to connect you with the services you have earned. TUNNEL TO TOWERS FOUNDATION
This community provides affordable, long-term supportive housing and access to free supportive services, ensuring veterans have a place to live with comfort, dignity, and hope. Single-room occupancy housing . The program is designed to address the unique needs of veterans striving for stability and growth, and to explore more independent housing solutions in the future.

VSG McDonough helps with claims assistance, training & education, job search tutorials & aids, support groups, resource referrals, and outreach services. They provide free breakfast every Monday and Wednesday from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM to homeless veterans or veterans in need.
They also offer:
- Shower Facilities - Clean, private shower space available.
- Laundry Access - Free use of washing machines and dryers.
- Food Pantry - Non-perishable food items available to take with you.
- Clothing Closet
No registration is required, just come by and you'll be taken care of with respect and dignity.
On Wednesdays (starting September 3, 2025) during breakfast hours, Dog Tag Jeepers will give out free toiletry kits, which include:
- Toothbrush and toothpaste
- Shaving kit
- Soap, bodywash, shampoo, and conditioner
- Handwipes
- Lotion
- New washcloths and towels
